BIG Shakem’s new single “Blue Cheese.” is a tried-and-true formula put into action. With production that features complex drum structures. Shakem completes the song by turning the auto-tune to a ten and knowing a thing or two about money and dairy.
While this is my first exposure to Shakem, I could not distinguish if he was a rapper or a singer, as the use of auto-tune blurred the lines of emcee verses a Kid Cudi hybrid rap-singer. But the song itself is straight to the point, taking away any ambiguity one might have when discussing the song’s subject matter. Shakem has money, and he wants you to know it.
One aspect of the song Shakem does well is filling space where the production lacks. Shakem does a solid job of Incorporating background singing adlib's to blend correctly with his vocals.
This song’s length runs around two-minutes, as the artist harmonizes his way through each dairy-filled metaphor.
