REVIEW - LANA DEL REY “BORN TO DIE”

An underrated gem to give a listen

Lana Del Rey's has a way of writing songs that encapsulates a 60's romanticism way of love and life, its nostalgic in its presentation, yet executed flawlessly much to the delight of the listeners ear. With her second studio album 'Born to Die' Rey captures the imagination of the audience with metaphoric lyrics draped over top tier production, creating one of music's most high-risk-high-reward albums to release within the 2010 decade.

While one of pop music's primary criticisms has always been its lack of musical diversity. Rey's soft-spoken style allows for a new avenue to begin in pop music culture. Rey accompanies every track with world-building lyrics and harmonic pleasantries that exists long enough for the listener to appreciate each moment.

Songs such as "Off To The Races" and "Diet Mountain Dew" showcases the peak of Rey's strong-suit, which is lyrics and imaginative storytelling. And while the album does have it's few valley's, it's offset by the many peaks the album possesses. What concludes is an album that everyone should give a chance to hear at least once in their life.
