Review - Curren$y “The OutRunners”
On Curren$y’s newest project “The OutRunners” the now-legendary New Orleans emcee teams with producer, Harry Fraud to add a fresh-coat to his patented formula, once again put forth a solid outing for fans to enjoy. The Discussing the classic luxuries of life while being the unquestioned coolest in the room.
Lyrically he’s flawlessly imaginative, as he’s able to use his suave wordplay to encapsulate the scenery he’s looking to paint. While its easy to write off Curren$y as a weed-rapper and nothing more due to his lackadaisical demeanor. The Jet-Life rapper, uses the polished production of Harry Fraud to add another layer to his game. Displaying a knack for providing clean delivery and well introspective quotable’s that longtime fans have grown to love.
The two biggest highlights throughout the album is Harry Fraud’s high quality production, which seems to mesh wonderfully with Spitta’s unwavering flow, and the perfectly placed features, which include longtime friends, Wiz Khalifa, and Rick Ross. The production, which at times can range from passive to cinematic at times, offers Curren$y just enough tools to create the album suitable for him.
In the end, longtime fans of Curren$y will find this album to be good enough to keep in rotation, while newcomers will find this album interesting enough to dive deeper into the veteran emcee’s deep catalog.
