Review - Flo Milli “Ho, Why Is You Here.”
Rapper Flo Milli’s debut album “Ho, Why Is You Here?” For lack of better words allows everyone to take a seat at the cool kids cafeteria table. It’s undoubtedly fun at times, sporadic, and foreign, but in a exciting way. The Alabama rapper makes her purpose known and straightforward. She’s here for the money, your man, and all the glitz and glam between. A Generation-Z’s Lil Kim.
Flo Milli, throughout this album does her best work while spitting half-backed-shit-talking. And while her lyrics can be simplified to everyday rapper “Pussy Talk,” the 20-year old emcee thrives by painting the image of the unfriendly black hottie. Oftentimes taunting and prodding her naysayers, but letting everyone knows that she’s the goal you’ll never reach.
While at times “Ho, Why Is You Here?” maybe littered with cliche rapper tropes, oftentimes gloating about what others are willing to do for her or simply boasting on what she has verses what you don’t. Flo Milli makes this work exuding a charismatic charm to each verse. Displaying a high school Senior’s level of confidence with each verse.
By the album’s conclusion you’ll find yourself charmed by the newest member of the hip-hop genre. She’s brash, she’s fun, and most importantly, she’s talented and she knows it.
