Song Review - Break! By Lex The Radical

Break! By Lex, The Radical is a unique hybrid, straddling between being a club banger and a theme of hustlers' ambition.

In this song, Lex talks about the usual hip-hop formula of money, women, and being the best in the obvious shit-talking rap fashion.

Verse-wise, Lex is impressively versatile. In his first verse, the emcee keeps pace with the impressive beat. It's overall good fun to see Lex flex with a traditional club-banger flow.

However, in the later verse, he takes control of all aspects of the track and genuinely makes you question how he would perform in a more boom-bap-ish form of rap. The final verse is almost too impressive compared to the first, which is already good.

The production is equal parts knocking as it is infectious with its near hypnotic melody. The drums, while not complex, are powerful and impossible to ignore. It would be wrong To call the production the star, but it wouldn't be a stretch. The beat is impressive, but Lex is better.

”It's money to be made." Is the phrase of the song, as Lex repeats the song on a near chant-like hook.

You will be impressed by this song. From the knocking beat, to the change in flow, Lex The Radical is damn good on this song. Worth checking out. You can listen here.
