Review - Louis Picasso “Behind The Paintings 2”

Louis Picasso’s album, “Behind The Paintings 2,” in many ways expresses a new-found freedom in the story of Picassio who continuously finds ways to tell the story of love gone bad. Producing an album that’s lyrically dense as it is sonically pleasing. “BTP2” is a comfortable album for first time listeners of Picasso.

For first time listeners of the Hiiigherminds owner, you’ll oftentimes find yourself impressed and occasionally shocked at the album’s ability to tell a story with raw honesty, while displaying enough versatility to remain interesting throughout.

In a nutshell, “BTP2” never strays too far away from its roots, while occasionally displaying melodically adventurous behavior when necessary, “BTP2” always has a sense of stability in its sound and comfortableness in its metaphorical skin. Picasso ensures this by operating within his realm of comfort, Whether it's his subject matter, or the pacing of each track, Picasso never has a moment throughout this album where he feels out of place.

Overall, the album has a steady sound, finding its groove early and never venturing too far from what it knows best. While it's relatively easy for an album to lose itself in search of its own identity, this project understands its definitive sound from the start and keeps its momentum from the opening-to-closing track.
