Song Review - “New Drip” by Chev

“New Drip.” By Chev is a gleeful shit-talking-fuck-you-up anthem, as Chev provides defiant bars that showcase her beyond artistry and enters a realm of standing firm on moral principalities. Firmly equipped with ear-numbing drums and a short but catchy bed squeaking sample, Chev takes her time crafting well-placed bars to the simplistic backdrop.

One of the best features of this song is not the bars necessarily, but Chev’s voice. Ignoring her age, vocally, she’s impressive as any hip-hop veteran as she comes across as confident and borderline cocky to the masses willing to give her bars a listen.

“Bitches claim they got the sauce, but ain’t never got no fucking chips.” She starts the track with an attacker’s spirit, letting off lyrics that refuse to hold up until the song’s end. While this could very well act as a freestyle, Chev presents this far more polished than your daily off-the-cuff radio cypher.
